What reputation is Richard Gutierrez trying to protect?

We got it from reputable source that Tita Anabel considers her brood as THE ROYAL FAMILY in Philippine show business.

Royal pains in the ass if you ask my personal opinion.

Still, you can’t fault a family from trying to earn 25 millions from protecting their golden egg Richard Gutierrez from, hmmmm, being painted by media as “basagulero.”

After all, in the eyes of Mama, he is a noble prince.

Richard Gutierrez sues PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) for Libel and asks for 25 Million Pesos in Damages. Fresh from New York, USA, our hero went to the Makati City Regional Trial Court’s Prosecutor’s Office to file a case of Libel against Pep. Richard Gutierrez was accompanied by his parents Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama, and siblings Ruffa Gutierrez and Raymond Gutierrez.

Also with them was Bubbles Paraiso (Of all people, "party" girl Bubbles Paraiso serves as witness!), who will serve as a witness in the case.

Richard Gutierrez went on to sue Pep because its editor-in-chief renege on their agreement that Pep will apologize for the alleged false incident and specifically make a denial that a scuffle happened between him and Michael Flores on director Mark Reyes birthday on March 28 at Oceana Restaurant’s Parking Lot.

Why is that act so offensive and potentially damaging to his person?

Richard replied, “Maraming artista ang nabibiktima ng ganitong klaseng false journalism at nagkataon lang na nangyari ito sa akin.

Hindi ako galit.

I feel bad and it saddens me na kailangang mangyari ito.

Kasi kaming mga artista, nagtatrabaho kami. You know, ang goal namin, magbigay-ligaya. Magbigay ng entertainment sa mga tao, tapos bigla na lang kami sasagasaan nang ganoon. Wala naman kaming ginagawang masama.First time ko na magsasampa ng kaso against anyone.

Gusto ko lang sabihin na matagal kong inalagaan, pinaghirapan ang pangalan ko.
Yung reputasyon ng pamilya namin, inaalagaan namin.”

But then again, Richard, can we just dissect what your PR content provider has given to you (and fire him quick!)

1. "Maraming artista ang nabibiktima ng ganitong klaseng false journalism."

What are you talking about?

This is the entertainment industry; you survive by being false!

In my personal opinion, your family managed to rise to the top because of the very same false journalism you are complaining about.

2. "Kasi kaming mga artista, nagtatrabaho kami.

You know, ang goal namin, magbigay-ligaya.

Wala naman kaming ginawang masama. "

Cut the crap Richard...

We all know that your goal is to make money and become rich.

And as to the “wala naman kaming ginawang masama”, let us not even go there, okay.
Or else we will be talking about a whole history of scandals and allegations of lies, deceit, prostitution, bigamy, that will make Tara Tambunting green with envy.

3. "Gusto ko lang sabihin na matagal kong inalagaan, pinaghirapan ang pangalan ko!
Yung reputasyon ng pamilya namin, inaalagaan namin."

Sigh! Let us face it, Sir Richard, you have reached a certain point when even you believe in your own lies. What reputation are you talking about?

Your family was involved in the Filmfest Scam of the Century.

Your last name is attached to one of the worst first-class prostitution allegation that merited a Philippine Senate hearing- ask Manong Ernie Maceda!

Even if Jo-An Maglipon issued an official apology for printing the news without validation of facts (that is another story though)

“To Richard Gutierrez, Michael Flores and Epy Quizon who were named at the story, to PEP readers who may have been confused........our sincerest apologies.”

Of course, Mr. Gutierrez was not appeased. He wanted to hurt the editor and the magazine by dragging them to court and asking them to pay.

Gosh, I am sure where this will lead to.

The lawyers will all realize that it will be more costly to allow the case to progress in court, some out-of-court settlements will be reached.

There will be a customary shaking of hands, and millions will be deposited in the bank accounts of the Royal Family.

Excuse my French, but that sucks!

Collectively i think, your family has hurt the reputation of the Filipino people more than you can possibly imagine Richard.

Did we ever ask one centavo from you to pay for moral damages?

After all, you are your mothers son...THINK ABOUT IT !

    OVERALL K (Karapatan) METER
Rock or suck: With that fake accent and all, she definitely sucks. We give her a suckage rating of 7 (the highest is 10).

Hot or not: Not. Well, she has often titillated the public with the tawdry scandals she has been involved in but these are negative scandals which do not work on her favor.

Star Ranking: With very limited talent, no movie hits that could be attributed to her, no significant fan-base, and no body of work that would stand the test of time, it is clear that Ruffa belongs to the group of C-List Filipino celebrities.

Since she has never made it to the top tier list of stars, it's not fair to call her a has-been. The more apt description would be that she is a "never-been". Considering that she is on her 30s (not a great age for an actress), Ruffa has very limited potential for the future. Yes, we might see her in more scandals that would titillate us but this would not lift her from the C-List where she rightly belongs.

Now, it's your turn to rate Ruffa by sharing with us your thoughts in the comments section. How would you rate Ruffa's K-Meter in a scale of one to ten (ten being the highest)?

I AM throwing up everytime I read news about the marital problems of Ruffa and Ylmaz.

What’s the big deal about it?

Why is the Philippine media giving so much attention to it?

Let’s get to the real facts:

    1) The letter of Ylmaz is an excellent commentary on the state of the Philippine media, which creates “fake stars.” It should make the Filipinos think about what makes a person worth praising.

    2) Annabelle’s gallons of tears in one of the talk shows there just reveals who the “materialistic person” is in Ylmaz’s letter.

We all know why she’s crying.

She’s afraid to lose her milking cow!
Enough about this Ruffa-Ylmaz soap opera, please.

Give us some more important news from the Philippines.

Ruffa Gutierrez refused to answer the latest statement of estranged husband Yilmaz Bektas charging the TV host-actress of document fraud in Turkey.

Through her publicist Jun Lalin, Ruffa indicated she would not respond to any of Yilmaz’s statements personally and would only course any future comment through her lawyers.

Yilmaz gave ABS-CBN a fresh interview Monday and said a Turkish court was after Ruffa for alleged falsification of public documents in Turkey after she allegedly failed to declare a previous marriage with another man.

In interviews with showbiz-oriented talk shows in June, Ruffa admitted a previous marriage with a certain Richard Daloia. While she claimed filing for divorce against Richard in Las Vegas before her marriage with Yilmaz, civil documents in Clark County, Nevada accessible through the Internet reveal Ruffa had only filed the divorce petition last month.

Yilmaz told ABS-CBN that the Turkish judge hearing the case had viewed the interviews and sought Ruffa to answer the charges.

He said Ruffa needed to appear before the Turkish court in Istanbul to present her defense against the charges or would become an outlaw facing 12 years imprisonment in Turkey.

The Turkish businessman added in the ABS-CBN interview that Ruffa’s alleged document fraud was a serious crime in the European Union and Turkey and a violation, he further said, that could make her blacklisted even in the United States.

Despite his pronouncements of Ruffa’s legal woes, Yilmaz had not filed any case against Ruffa in the Philippines, where they held a grand wedding ceremony on March 25, 2003 with high ranking government officials and biggest showbiz personalities in attendance.

Jun hinted in his Abante Tonite column Tuesday that Yilmaz’s latest statement was borne out of his frustration in reaching Ruffa days before the ABS-CBN interview.

Ruffa is involved in two movie projects for Regal Films, a television drama for ABS-CBN, and a hosting job in the showbiz-oriented talk show “The Buzz” also on ABS-CBN.

Two showbiz reporters who heard about the incident also backed off the story. As a result, PEP became more curious: where did the Richard-Aljur tiff come from?

Richard Gutierrez was accused of involvement in a mauling incident Saturday night by a radio deejay and a stylist, along with several others, mostly guests in his and his twin Raymonds birthday party held at a bar in EMBASSY.The name of young Bryan Revilla, son of Senator Bong Revilla Jr. and actress Lani Mercado, was also mentioned in the public complaint as the one who tried to give MONEY to one of the victims, which the latter refused.

The victims, who were identified as DJ Nel and Ram, spoke on ABS-CBNs "The Buzz" and said that they were accosted by the group of Gutierrez for no apparent reason. "I just heard a crash at the back of my car. And when I opened my window somebody punched me in the face," DJ Nel said, continuing to say that he got hit on the face several times over by different men in the group which he could not identify anymore because of the confusion.

He added that while he was trying to make sense of the confusion, he recognized Gutierrez to be one among the group of more than 10 young men. He identified Bryan as the one who tried to give him money. He said, "he gave me an envelope with money, which I refused, bilang tulong daw sa akin."

His friend, stylist Ram, for his part said he got punched three times in the face.

The two even brought to the show the clothes that they were wearing the night before, including a broken pair of eyeglasses that belongs to Nel and a pair of shoes with blood stains.

Gutierrez needs to sue PEP not only to protect his multi million endorsement deals but he also needs to veer away public attention from his mother Annabel Rama's case against Wilma Galvante. It would be no surprise to me to find out if "RECHARD" was egged on by his mother to file this case. RAMA also happens to be RECHARD's Manager, ROFA's and REMOND's brother.

Those celebrities who have had run-ins with Mr. Gutierrez in the past should really speak out. This is their chance to finally silence and eliminate a self-proclaimed royal showbiz family who has no solid contribution to the improvement of the Philippine Arts.

Please don't be intimidated by the threats of this family especially by its crassly loudmouthed matriarch RAMA who was a sexy star in her younger days, but she never made it. Her biggest victory however was running after Eddie Gutierrez, chasing all his other women away, and having spawned children by him.

    TAX evasion raps against GUTTIEREZ'

    By Lawrence Agcaoili

THE Bureau of Internal Revenue yesterday filed tax-evasion charges against actress Sharmaine Gutierrez Bektas and her parents for failing to pay P3.28 million in income and value added taxes.

The bureau charged Ruffa and her parents, Eddie Gutierrez and Anabelle Rama, before the justice department after their family owned Royale Era Entertainment Inc. allegedly failed to pay the government the P3.28 million it owed for 2003 and 2004.

It was the 53rd case filed by the bureau against showbiz personalities including Richard Gomez, Regine Velasquez, Judy Ann Santos and talent manager Douglas Quijano.

“It is not the amount of tax deficiency that matters, but it is the message that we want to deliver,” Internal Revenue Commissioner Jose Mario BuƱag said in a statement.

“We shall be running after tax evaders whoever they are.”

Gutierrez and Rama serve as president and managing director, respectively, of Royale Era. Ruffa, who was “Second Princess” in the Miss World beauty pageant in 1993, and is now married to Turkish billionaire Ylmas Bektas, serves as the company’s treasurer.

The bureau said Royal Era was incorporated in 1995 to produce and market TV programs, movies, recordings and live shows, but it registered with it only in 1998 and had failed to pay the annual P500 registration fee since 1999.

It said the company also failed to file its quarterly and annual income tax returns from 1998 to 2004.

“Despite the numerous projects produced by the company that generated income, it still deliberately failed to comply with its legal obligation to declare its income by not filing the required returns,” the bureau said in its complaint.

Royale Era is said to have produced the movies Pinakamagandang Hayop sa Balat ng Lupa, Secrets of Guadalupe, Bali High, Babae sa Cake, Mga Liham ni Alberto, Babae sa Dilim, and She Wants to be a Millionaire.

The company also produced the concerts “Songs and Laughter Unlimited,” “The Way We Are,” “One Night Stand Date,” “Ara in One Night Stand with Hajji,” and “A Very Wholesome Show.”

Are the networks also to blame for their eagerness to air Annabel's bitchy tirades everytime she's in a fighting mood?

While these annoying palengkera tirades aren't good for society (in general) to see/hear on tv, the networks don't give a shit as long as it brings them more ratings.

What usually happens with this kind of scenario is that the public eventually eats it up, personalities (deservingly or undeservingly) earn more publicity points, and the networks can always claim "we're just giving the public what they want to see".

    (Sigh!).....

  55. RainB Says:

Yes, I agree that the networks should be blamed for their eagerness to play up shitty stories from the gutierrezes.

Anabel makes a good story. She is a character, and thus entertaining.

But then again, what can you expect from media entities who have given up their societal responsibilities and merely focused on the ratings war.

GMA and ABS are focusing their attention to each other and not to the Filipino citizens.

f it's about LIBEL. MONEY. and CHEATING, why target this crappy family? If you see any of them on your tv, change the channel. They're here to stay because you can't stop watching them!

What about targeting bigger fish, huh? Maybe then we can talk about relevance.

    ____________

Then we are falling into the intellectual arrogance of people like Conrado de Quiros. These issues are relevant to the masses, and the masses largely contribute to our national thinking.

So isn't it good that every once in a while, we talked about the stuff the people talk about. Lest we are disconnected from them.

Thanks, VICTORINA, for this comment. Couldn't have formulated it better. The whole Guiterrez clan (with the mother on top) are one big insult for ordinary Filipinos.

You said it well. They are such a big insult to the Filipinos.

The problem with mainstream media, especially the entertainment sections, is that most of the reporters are afraid of this clan, or they owe a debt of gratitude to Anabel.

The bloggers should destroy this family.

made me realize that the world is cruel and filled with more cruel inhabitants..

ang daming "holier than thou" ang attitude sa buhay. i dont like this write up at all. its cheap and peppered with malice."

What malice are you talking about?

I am sure you are a fan of Richard that is why you are protecting him. If people feel that they are holier than the Gutierrez's it is because they lie at the bottom of all of the scums of the earth..so everyone else is actually holier than them...

I love Richard. I admit I am a Richard fanatic. I wish I am KC Concepcion touching his beautiful face. He can sue me if he wants to.

    Is Raymond gay?

If he is, then is it not that two genes come from thesame DNA...

Then the probability that Richard is also gay is very high!

  62. Anonymous Says:

Yuck ANON...Richard has NO SEX APPEAL. It's like have sex with Anabelle Rama!

    Anon 7:44,

What you're saying is that we are connected to the masses when we talk about showbiz issues. Well, I don't buy that argument one bit. There are issues MORE important than showbiz, and I'm sure you would agree with that. On the other hand, you may be underestimating the masses by insinuating that they don't know anything else but showbiz. They are, however, influenced a lot by what they see on tv...thus, it affects their decisions when they vote.

Once in a while it may be ok to take a break from all the REALLY RELEVANT issues, but the truth is that issues like showbiz are a contributing factor to the "dumbing-down" of the masses (we can also thank mainstream media for that)...and this is what they have to understand. Your argument doesn't hold any water because you accept showbiz as a relevant issue in our national thinking. NO WAY will I ever want to be part of that. If you want to call that intellectual arrogance, we're in deep shit.
