Dr. Hayden Kho’s 15 minutes of Gucci Gangbangin’ fame is over. Like his Gucci predecessors, one can only surmise that the secret of their over-night success was the cause to their over-night downfall. But there is something more pressing than the rise and fall of these pretentious lemmings. An unscrupulous political carpet bagger is using Hayden’s pitiable fate to propagate a tyrannical bill!

Still pending two years after Sen. Bong Revilla introduced it to the Senate, the Anti-Pornography Act of 2007 seeks to “protect all individuals from proliferation of pornographic materials and to curb nefarious activities involving pornography.” Who else is supporting the bill but anti-gay Rep. Bienvenido Abante; The Pastor turned Congressman who is adamant about purging the country of “sinful acts” of its citizens…

Last year, Sen. Manny Villar filed the Anti-Obscenity and Pornography Bill of 2008 or Senate Bill No. 2464 and a howl of protest was raised against it by journalists, artists, bloggers, media personalities and from VICTORINA. In one fell swoop, the bill would have thrown art out with smut by classifying all of it as obscene material.

May I assure Senator Bong Revilla that no PR firm is working to demolish him. While Victorina is completely capable of such, our fight is within the bounds of what is humane, moral and legal. We are here not to destroy but to transform.

From Section 3, (b) “Pornographic or pornography” refers to objects or subjects of film, television shows, photography, illustrations, music, games, paintings, drawings, illustrations, advertisements, writings, literature or narratives, contained in any format, whether audio or visual, still or moving pictures, in all forms of film, print, electronic, outdoor or broadcast mass media, or whatever future technologies to be developed, which are calculated to excite, stimulate or arouse impure thoughts and prurient interest, regardless of the motive of the author thereof. (c) “Mass media” refers to film, print, broadcast, electronic … (d) “Materials” refers to all movies, films, television shows, photographs, music, games, paintings, drawings, illustrations, advertisements, writings, literature or narratives, whether produced in the Philippines or abroad…

It means some of the things we are doing now may be unlawful once this tyrannical bill is approved.

For example the following will be deemed illegal:

1. Buying Cosmopolitan, FHM, UNO and similar magazines. This falls under Prohibited Act #10 which disallows anyone from possessing lewd content in whatever form - photos, magazines, computer files, etc.

2. Posting naked pictures of males or females. Sexy male and female photos by Raul Teehankee, Raymond Isaac and the guru Jun De Leon will all fall under this category.

3. Panting naked pictures. National Artist Ben Cabrera will easily fall victim to this silly law.

4. Broadcasting about sex on Radio. The “Boys Night Out”, “Good Times” and King DJ Logan will definitely be prosecuted under this law.

5. Indie-films. This will be the end of all gay themed Indie movies.

video

What is even scarier about the Bong Revilla Bill is how it defines obscenity: “Obscene” refers to anything that is indecent or offensive or contrary to good customs or religious beliefs, principles or doctrines, or tends to corrupt or deprave the human mind, or is calculated to excite impure thoughts or arouse prurient interest, or violates the proprieties of language and human behavior, regardless of the motive of the producer…

Even without the Revilla Bill being enacted, our DJ Mojo Jojo was fined several times by the Kapisanan ng mga Broadcasters ng Pilipinas (KBP) for saying “WANG” on air.

Victorina’s resident lawyer, Atty. Trixie Angeles states that “Revilla’s Bill, Senate Bill No. 12 prescribes against the publication, exhibition, sale, distribution, possession of pornographic material. Pornography is over-broadly defined as referring to any representation, through publication, exhibition, cinematography, indecent shows, information technology by whatever means, of a person (whether minor or adult) engaged in real or simulated explicit sexual activities or any other representation of the sexual parts of a person for primarily sexual purpose that is intended to stimulate erotic rather than aesthetic or emotional feeling (emphasis ours). The law says that even talking about the sexual act is pornography as is any representation of the sexual organs (which could include breasts, by the way).”

Will Senator Revilla use Katrina Halili’s embarrassment to foist censorship upon us?

We sympathize with Katrina, but we will look at Sen. Revilla’s legislation with suspicion until he can show that this isn’t just another Hitlerian response to the freedom of expression, opportunely timed to coincide with one woman’s humiliation.”

Ooooh... Am I the first to comment?

I think the whole Katrina Hayden brouhaha had been exploded rather loudly at the senate to ease out or soften the impact of the biggest story of the day -- which was the 12 yes votes for the trial of the ethics complaint against Senator Manny Villar.

It harks of the Marcosian and even Ramosian ploy of exploding sex bombs, if you will, with an aim to distract people from politics.

As for an Anti-Pornography Law, particularly Revilla's, I don't there's time to pass it.

  2. Anonymous Says:

It's bad enough that Revilla is a senator, but "we ain't seen nothin' yet" if we allow Prinsipe Abante to spread his wings.

Not long ago, he wanted the MTRCB abolished. His real intention is to replace it with another "group" led by him...and that could be just the beginning. I stongly suggest keeping him on the radar.

    NO to censorship, dammit.

  3. Johnonymous Says:

Remembering what Rain said about Sen. Jamby's "losing relevance".

This same goes to Senator Revilla...

Have you noticed the news this days? There are senators whose terms are expiring. They are the same ones who go to every photo ops and interviews.

This move of Senator Revilla is nothing but a delusional shot to "heroism" (bayani ng masa at kababaihan - iboto uli siya!). We all know, somehow, he is misrepresenting this subject and he definitely has an underlying purpose.

    Raise our people’s intelligence, please!

Don’t blind our people to ancient ways. Let them decide for themselves what is obscene.

Let parents be responsible to police their own kids. Let us create a people that can discern for themselves. Trust them to discern for themselves what is right and what is wrong.

The question of morality isn’t for the state to decide. It is religion. It is fate. It is about individual parents and families. The state needs to take care of things that individual people can’t.

Then again, I often forget how idiotic, shortsighted our politicians are.

    Press Release of BONG:

Senator Bong Revilla demanded the revocation of medical license of celebrity model Hayden Kho in connection with the latter’s malicious spreading of his “sex video” with actress Katrina Halili.

In his privilege speech, the senator stressed that it is an unbecoming conduct of a professional to destroy the reputation and humiliate another person by circulating what should be treated as an intimately private activity.

“Ang isang doctor ay kailangang maging kagalang-galang sa kanyang pagkilos. Kailangang respetuhin niya ang dangal ng lahat, at tratuhin nang may respeto ang bawat tao,” said Revilla, who expressed disgust after watching the sex video.

He cited Section 24 of the Republic Act No. 2382 or the Medical Act of 1959 whereby immoral or dishonorable conduct are among the grounds for reprimand, suspension or revocation of a doctor’s certificate of registration.

“Hindi siya marunong gumalang sa kababaihan. Para bang wala siyang nanay o mga kapatid na babae. If you ask me, wala itong tao na ito sa tamang pag-iisip, and according to the Medical Act, this doctor can also be punished for insanity. Buwang itong doktor na ito,” Revilla added.

The lawmaker called on the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) to take action in revoking the medical license of Kho and ban him from the practice of medicine perpetually.

“He has no right to treat patients just knowing his state of mind fully well. Paano mo ipagkakatiwala ang anak mong babae sa ganitong doktor? This perversity poses a risk to the public that according to studies will escalate to further acts of perversity. Huwag na nating hintayin na may iba pa siyang mabiktima,” said Revilla, who earlier filed Senate Bill No. 12 or the Anti Pornography Bill which seeks to slap stiffer penalties against those who publish, broadcast and exhibit pornographic materials through the use of traditional media, internet, the “cyberspace”, cellular phones and other forms of media.

“Sa dinami dami ngayon ng mga sex scandal na kumakalat, kailangan nating kumilos para protektahan ang ating mga kababayan, ang ating mga kababaihan, lalo na ang mga kabataang kababaihan,” Revilla said.

Revilla also pointed out that under Article 26 of the Civil Code, every person shall respect the dignity, personality, privacy and peace of mind of his neighbors and other persons, and disturbing the private life of another person constitutes to a cause of action for damages.

Good Times with Mo,Mojo and Grace has turned local showbiz into a cockpit by pitting the stars against one another.

The program has already caused fights, verbal and otherwise, among the stars, with one violent incident recorded so far (when Vina Morales slapped Borgy Manotoc whom Vina accused of wrongly saying that she was among the famous women he had gone to bed with).

In the full version of the said photo (CHECK GORELLS BLOG), Sen. Bong and Assunta are totally unwrapped exposing their lower parts, most especially that of Sen. Bong.

It was taken from a scene in one of his blockbuster movies entitled Kilambot At Kembot. In a review from CBCP World, the movie had objectionable features such as vulgar language, erotic dances, very skimpy costumes, womanizing, and prolonged and suggestive s-x scenes.

According to Sen. Bong, he was not yet a Senator then.Yes, Bong Revilla was elected Senator in 2004, but he was already in public service since 1995. He was elected Cavite Vice-Governor in 1995 and eventually Cavite Governor in 1998.

So why the sudden fuss about this Bong Revilla photo?

Some say it's because Sen. Bong overly reacted on the issue of Hayden Kho scandals.

Yes, Sen. Bong is in the position to do so but I believe that Sen. Bong is not in the BEST position to fight for the rights of women as what he is rallying for.

Those people who are criticizing Sen. Bong are not necessarily in defense of Hayden, but they are the ones who believe a senator like Bong Revilla has more important issues to focus on rather than that one.

Even columnist Lolit Solis says the Senate is overly reacting on the matter.

Dear Mr. Jose Marie Mortel Bautista aka Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr.,

All I can say to you regarding this issue is that, you are already overstepping your moral boundaries. How dare you preach to us about Moral Ineptitude when you yourself and your family is an example of moral ineptness.

What the country needs is not your oppressive and useless law. We have already shown that in our past articles. You sir are not the right person to preach to us what is "nakakapangilabot ng laman". Just look at what you are using as a platform to push your useless act of legislation. A naked woman’s moment of weakness captured in motion by a now infamous “Hayden Cam.”

You are a politician sir, elected by the people, to serve us with VITAL and needed RESULTS. What you and your kind are doing is not what the country needs. No sir, just look around and shed your indifference. People are sick, hungry, homeless, and without stable jobs. While your peers continue to rob us, exploiting your exalted positions, we the people, entrusted you with.

I keep forgetting that you are an actor too. So it is hard for me sometimes to gauge if you are just acting out a role, and portraying it very badly to further your aim in staying in the halls of power. Your script which you recited on the Senate Floor is the one that is nakakapangilabot, and not in a good way.

As a politician, your interest in people should be prime. But experience shows that this is not always a virtue. Your interest in people, like majority of your peers, can be compared as to why fleas are interested in dogs.

Call me a hypocrite, but I really don't see what the fuss was about in this Hayden Kho brouhaha. At least now we all know where our government officials' priorities lie. The U.S.'s
President Obama won't glorify issues like this with a speech. Ask Paris Hilton. :-)

It's just amusing to watch the same gossip columnists who use gossip to destroy people's lives rise up in righteous indignation to condemn Hayden Kho. They just don't see the irony of it,heh.

There are a few points the way I see it.

    1. Katrina and Hayden did this with each other's consent. This can be clearly seen even in the "Careless Whisper" video where she is obviously aware that she is being videotaped.

    2. I'm no Hayden sympathizer, he deserves what's coming to him, but I believe that he took these videos for private viewing only.
We should consider this behavior as normal (ooh, I can hear the haters now) as this happens around the world. Consenting adults take videos of each other for souvenirs.
Hayden was just stupid enough not to encrypt his files, so he became a dead man the moment someone stole these files from him. There's a password function in WinRAR, you know.

    3. This mess is what we get when we live in a society where religious authorities (no angels themselves) dictate what is right and wrong, and even influence gov't. policy (anti-contraception).

I long for the Philippines to follow the lead of European nations like France and adopt a secular government, where they care about things that really matter, like unemployment, instead of poking their noses where they don't belong, namely other people's bedrooms.

This is Katrina and Hayden's private matter, let them take care of it. There's no need for so-called Sen. Bong Revilla and the "guardians of morality" to intervene on this matter.

Seriously, if you don't want the kids to see this crap, get a parental control program. This should be a no-brainer, people!!!
