There are ideologues who have personal, hidden agenda, but Mila Aguilar is not one of them.
I am happy that she allows us to use her words to put into the right perspective why GMA should go down in history as the president that brought lawlessness as a mode of governance. She may sound preachy lately, but with the right authority - after all she read the bible cover to cover six times - and all its editions and commentaries.
Mila A's brain should be declared a national treasure.
Why do we do this?
If I haven't written in this prayer diary for some time, it is not because I haven't been praying. I have, fervently. It was just that I could not seem to express my prayers in writing. There was something I couldn't say. I couldn't even write it in the form of poems. Now it has come out, in the form of the letter below, in answer to a correspondence on the Internet. Mila Aguilar is passionate in expressing her views and feelings. She's also a brilliant writer. However, I have some reservations calling President Gloria Arroyo names that characterize arrogance of power. I've had the chance to interact with the marginalized sector of our society. I've also had the chance of talking to taxi drivers and street peddlers. Most of them say that the President is trying her best. On the other hand, they express consternation over the nuns watching over Lozada, the politicians (specifically Roxas and Pangilinan) who are obviously "already campaigning." Yes, these people watch TV and read the papers, too. I'm just confused as to why media has become so negative about the government. They should also talk of positive things which can be infectious. It's terrible to be angry all the time and growling at how things are.

she is entitled to her own personal religious belief much like Dubya's fundamentalist belief in the "end of days" and I admire her courage as well but i've got more faith in humanity that it will put its act together and make a better world one day and that God is a God of Love ,not vengeance and She is on humanity's side..It must be hard to live with so much chips on your shoulders. Mila means well, though it SICKENS me that she and millions of Filipinos choose to WAIT for our "Lord and Savior" to get us out of this mess. The more we wait on "god", every adult's imaginary friend, the more Gloria and her ilk screw the country and its people.
If you want real change, discard all forms of idiotic fundamentalism and use common sense, which, sadly, is obviously far from common.
