Bentain was abducted outside the hotel on
In a SENATE HEARING on 17 August 2001, Ador Mawanay related how the PAOCTF men abducted Pagcor employee Edgar Bentain who was then immersed ALIVE in cement within a steel drum. The leader, Supt. Michael Ray Aquino, ordered to cover the drum then buried it near a bridge in Pampanga. Mawanay also identified Joseph Estrada’s son, Jude Estrada [Senator Ping Lacson also noted that there was a squabble for illegal gambling money between Sen. Jinggoy and Jude Estrada (who was implied to be a drug-user in Lacson's speech ], as having given a black bag to Aquino which contained money as purported payment for the killing of Bentain.
Edgar’s brother Eddie Bentain said that they have long suspected the former president of being behind his brother’s disappearance, and that Lacson should have known about it because the senator was the national-police chief when Estrada was president.
Our dear readers who lived through the miserable yet epigrammatic hoodlum state of the Estrada presidency will agree with me when I say that it is logical to presume that then President Estrada had the motive to exact vengeance on Bentain (unless you are in another state of mind)… let alone the obvious supposition that someone from Estrada’s posse, acting on his direct orders, was indeed responsible for Bentain’s murder.
Motive is always the key to solving a murder case... so they say!
Just today, Senator Panfilo Lacson pointed in the Senate hearing to Joseph Estrada’s likely involvement in Bentain’s murder. Given the information and the current evidence surrounding the case and the exposes that Lacson is bound to divulge in the days to come, it is increasingly clear that there is only one mastermind behind the untimely and unjust fate of Bentain.
Human life is not something that can be extinguished on a whim, at the command of another, regardless of his station in life. Whether an ordinary yet brave citizen trying to expose the truth… or a president of a nation struggling with a gambling habit and the temptation of wine, women and corrupt governance, the life of every person should be deemed valuable. While the former’s flame has already been snubbed out, let us pray that the latter can still find true repentance and reform in his remaining years.
Philosopher Albert Schweitzer once said that ethics, too, are nothing but reverence for life. This is what gives me the fundamental principle of morality, namely, that good consists in maintaining, promoting, and enhancing life, and that destroying, injuring, and limiting life are evil. Lacson ended his privellege speech saying "May God save the Philippines from Joseph Estrada."

the person caught in the videotape was Estrada... who else will get vengeance but him?
Tanga talaga ang Estrada family!
a president of a nation struggling with a gambling habit and the temptation of wine, women and corrupt governance... dats erap!
destroying, injuring, and limiting life are evil... murderer!
If plunderer Joseph Estrada was a jueteng protector, a smuggler’s godfather and a bully, his son Jinggoy is a jueteng beneficiary, a traitor, and one who consorts with the government he claims to oppose... Jude Estrada on the other hand is a gay drug-addict and ex-lover of Dranreb Belleza... May gulay- only in the Philippines!
Lacso says: A second story involved two "presidential brothers," where the elder brother called the attention of a jueteng operator in Baguio City after learning that the younger brother was getting P1 million payola (payoff) a month.‘Yung P1M na ibinibigay mo sa kapatid ko, hatiin mo. Sa akin mo ibigay ang kalahati, baka gamitin lang pambili ng drugs 'yung pera," the brother supposedly told the operator.(The P1 million you are giving to my brother, split it with me because my brother may use it to buy drugs.) Aside from the additional P500,000 sequestered from the younger brother, the elder brother had a regular monthly payola of P800,000 from another jueteng operator from Bulacan, P1 million from former Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis Singson, and unspecified amount from yet another gambling lord from Pampanga."Talk about betrayal, Mister President," Lacson said.
The third story involves an incumbent Cabinet secretary and "an elected senator of the Republic" who would ask the Cabinet official for a project when he loses P10 million.
Lacson said the day after the senator asked for a project, a member of the senator’s staff would call on the Cabinet secretary to make a follow-up.
"Mister President, distinguished colleagues, the three short stories that I shared with you only show the rotten moral values of that son, brother and public official," he said.
WHO KILLED BENTAIN? According to Lacson, a police officer whom he did not name reported “mission accomplished" to Estrada a day after Bentain was abducted and then killed in January 1999. “This much I can share, in the meantime, to our distinguished colleagues, the family of Mr. Bentain and the Filipino people. Sometime in the middle of January, 1999, one day after Edgar Bentain was abducted somewhere in Roxas Blvd. and killed somewhere in Laguna, a police officer went to Estrada's house on Polk Street in Greenhills, San Juan, and reported compliance of his mission. He said the "house occupant" - meaning Estrada - simply said, "Sige, sabihin mo sa mga bata, maraming salamat (Okay, tell the boys thank you very much),’" he said.
Bentain was a video operator of a hotel casino where Estrada, then vice president and a candidate for president, played baccarat, a high-stakes card game. “I did not identify the criminal simply because I did not have any participation or direct personal knowledge of these criminal activities while they were taking place years ago. My investigation is ongoing even as I speak today. But I have gathered enough facts and data to provide the useful leads to unmask the mastermind’s true identity and his active participation including other persons who were barely mentioned in the conduct of investigation," he said.
Danny Devnani in 2003: One time I asked Ang if he ever found out who leaked the casino videotape. He said he would, very soon. In Jan. 1999 I bumped into Ang, Villanueva, a police officer and their security escorts at a casino restaurant. Ang was very tense when he whispered to me that Bentain was several tables away. Days later I read in the papers that Bentain had disappeared.”
lasinggeo, babaero, sugalero ... mabuhay si erap at ang katulad niya!
"Jude Estrada [Senator Ping Lacson also noted that there was a squabble for illegal gambling money between Sen. Jinggoy and Jude Estrada (who was implied to be a drug-user in Lacson's speech"
I HAVE ONE THING TO SAY... AMININ BAKLA KA JUDE!
Bentain handed over the video to Estrada’s nemesis and then Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office chairman Manuel Morato — who released it to the public in an effort to discredit Estrada, who at the time was campaigning for the presidency.A few months into Estrada's presidency, Bentain was forcefully abducted by unidentified men outside the Casino Filipino at the Grand Boulevard Hotel in Manila. He has not been heard from since.
SO WHO KILLED BENTAIN? YOU DO THE MATH!
fab writing Amiel; very PResque but morally upright... "Human life is not something that can be extinguished on a whim, at the command of another, regardless of his station in life. very emotional and well written Amiel!
Gen. Jose Almonte, knew about threats to Dacers life. Dacer said he had been warned by concerned friends “that President Estrada has tagged me as the field officer in the alleged destabilization campaign against the administration.”
THE ESTRADA should stop lying!
punyeta who else has the motive? alangan naman si GMA nagpapatay kay Bentain... I'm sure that is Ellen Tordesillas assumption.
Mga baliw talaga pilipino!
Larry Leviste SEZ......
DALAWA lang klase ng POLITICO sa PINAS,

Period.
ALL of them will be PUNISHED, all of them.
Although Lacson's revelations are very much accepted by most of us, he still strikes me as a crafty person. He confuses people as to what issue really matters in order to divert attention from an upcoming criminal case against him. In preparation for Lacson's upcoming trial, he is discrediting Estrada's character so that when the Dacer case is tried, Lacson himself will appear credible. Turuan silang dalawa ngayon ni Estrada sa mga kasalanan nila noon that are haunting them now. Well, they've got the money but they suffer the loss of their soul.
The THUG Charlie “Atong” Ang was a close friend and ally of Estrada, and was extradited in 2006 to testify against Estrada who was then charged with plunder. Jinggoy asked Ang to spare him and his mother from any controversy the former president would be dragged into, because Erap could defend himself. Jinggoy told Ang that he still has presidential ambitions.
NEVER AGAIN WITH THE ESTRADAS!
Si Patricio Mangubat adik!
ABUSIVE ESTRADA'S
Just recently Dranreb Belleza was nabbed when the Toyota Revo, owned by the Estrada family, he was riding reached Malate Church. ABS-CBN’s “Umagang Kay Ganda” reported that the vehicle kept circling the area past 4 a.m. while using a car siren. This caused an alarm among residents who immediately reported the incident to the police. Police will reportedly charge him with violation of Presidential Decree No. 96, which declares unlawful the use or attachments of sirens on vehicles.Belleza, who was diagnosed with cancer, stayed in the United States for a very long time to focus on his art works.
BAKLA!
God help us from the Estradas.
I agree that good consists in maintaining, promoting, and enhancing life, and that destroying, injuring, and limiting life are evil...JUSTICE for Bentain!
an incumbent Cabinet secretary and "an elected senator of the Republic" who would ask the Cabinet official for a project when he loses P10 million... This is true!
Danny Devnani is an Indian national who following an attempt on his life on 31 August 2003 in Pasay City revealed that:
1. “At Club 419 in early 1996 Ang [Atong Ang, former Estrada crony, currently awaiting trial in the United States] asked me to engage in kidnapping for ransom. He wanted me to identify rich members of the Indian community. He persisted
for weeks, but I always refused. He claimed that Erap needed campaign funds for the 1998 presidential election.
2. Sometime October 1996 Ang showed me a list of rich Indian nationals. I was surprised he knew them. Many nights later I got a call from a friend whose
brother had been abducted. He needed help and knew I was close to Erap. I had a feeling Ang had a hand in it, so I called him. He just laughed and said that since I knew about it already, I might as well act as ransom
negotiator. He asked if the victim could pay $2 million. The kidnapper also
called my friend for the same amount.
Negotiations took days. Ang went to my friend's house, flashed an ID-card
of the Presidential Anti-Crime Commission [at the time headed by Ping Lacson], put a gun on the table, and bragged about intimacy with Erap. When his cellphone rang, he showed us Erap's name on the screen. Ang settled for P30 million, saying he needed to let the victim off quick because another kidnapping was to be pulled. The family could raise only P27 million; he lent them P3 million, to be collected later. After Ang got the ransom, I was to pick up the victim at a restaurant. Inside I saw Joel Arnan, No. 2 man of the Kuratong Baleleng. Assured that the ransom was with Ang, he turned over the victim to me.”
3. Devnani also claims that Estrada tried to buy him off and he confirms the story that Atong Ang was responsible for the murder of casino employee Edgar Bentain (see also post on 2 August).
“When Erap became President, I tried many times to tell him about the
kidnappings. He kept avoiding me. At a party at Guia Gomez's house, I
whispered about it to his ears. He did not respond. I wrote him on my
birthday, July 1, 1999, stating that my only wish was to speak to him. He
called me to Malacanang three days later - not to talk about it but to give
me a check for P3 million. This confirmed my belief that he was a patron
and benefactor of the KB. [Kuratong Balaleng, a major criminal gang.]

Killer si Estrada according to Devnani.... “When Erap became President, I tried many times to tell him about the kidnappings. He kept avoiding me. At a party at Guia Gomez's house, I whispered about it to his ears. He did not respond. I wrote him on my

MGA TANGA ANG PILIPINO!
1. Nov. 7 -- Carlos Arellano, former chair, president and chief executive officer of the Social Security System, testifies on how Estrada “pressured” him into authorizing the purchase of P784 million worth of Belle Corp. shares using SSS funds in October 1999.
2. an. 7 -- Belle Corp. vice chair Willie Ng Ocier testifies that a P189.7-million I-Bank check was issued by the SSI Management, the company that sold Belle shares to the SSS and Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) in October 1999, to pay the commission allegedly demanded by Estrada.
3. July 1 -- Emma Lim testifies that alleged jueteng lord Bong Pineda and Anton Prieto, Estrada’s presidential assistant for Bicol affairs, had regularly delivered jueteng collections to former Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis “Chavit” Singson who, in turn, allegedly gave them to Estrada.
4. Jan. 24 -- Estrada’s co-accused Charlie “Atong” Ang agrees to return P25 million to government as part of a plea bargain offer. He says the amount was part of the P130 million in tobacco excise tax that he and Estrada “diverted” in 1998.
nagpagawa ba ng mukha si jinggoy? i notice it's different but somehow can't pinpoint it. to the derma who did it - excellent job. HOWEVER, kahit anong retoke, si jinggoy pa rin.
Tulfo recounts...
Atong Ang is the same guy who, at the height of his power acquired through gambling buddy former President Erap, would slap men who crossed him.
1. He slapped a congressman inside a cockfighting arena.
2. He slapped a high official of the Philippine Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) when he was losing in the casino.
3. He would berate top police officials in front of their subordinates.
4. All those people never fought back and just licked their wounds.
.
Whether True or not, Lacson's privilege speech again re-introduced who Joseph Estrada was and is.
Makakalimutin kasi ang mga Pinoy.
I just hope that if and when the legality of Estrada's intention to run for Pres again in 2010 will be brought up to the SC, I am hoping that SC will uphold its previous ruling that Estrada willfuly resigned from his post therefore he can no longer seek the same public office he once had.
NO TO ESTRADA PRESIDENCY! NEVER AGAIN!
Task Force Bentain was just created hours ago. I hope heads will spin!
Ang mga jologs ang namuno... Their speaking styles were not of the caliber of Don Claro M. Recto, the late Lorenzo Tañada and Jose Wright Diokno, and others in that lamentably gone era when the Senate was a fountain of wisdom, civic sense and patriotism. The venerable Senate President might have made some people, including Erap himself, shed a tear.
But not us!
Forgive me for asking. Ano po ba meaning nang "damagaugery" on the sidebar po. Has this got something to do with the word Demagogue?
Please explain po.
demagoguery or demagogy - impassioned appeals to the prejudices and emotions of the populace
why do pinoys put-up with these people and their kind?
Jude Estrada is an addict and a pusher, ask Dranreb Belleza and Rosanna Roces kilala nila pagkatao nun. According to Dranreb pinakamalalaking shabu na nakita niya nakita niya sa bahay nina Erap sa Polk courtesy of Jude Estrada.

Because Pinoys are passive idiots (among other things). Go ahead and list down some more things we've put-up with. Your list won't be long enough.
